The Client
The Northeast Recycling Council is hosting an annual conference about a circular economy. This time, they’re collaborating with The Center for Sustainable Materials Management to host the conference in New York for the first time. These organizations need branding for this conference and share commonalities in their own brands, like being focused on sustainability and the environment.
My Role
Graphic Designer, illustrator, branding specialist. My process entailed research into the organizations and prior conference events, drafting options for conference aesthetics, and creating the brand system.
Software used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Macbook Pro 2019 Sonoma 14.5
The Logo:
The logo combines similar colors from each organization’s branding while introducing newer tones. Both organizations had visual goals for the conference, like being approachable and friendly, but modern and professional with a splash of energy. The conference tone is more uplifting, inspiring hope and change. With the topic of circularity, the C hints at moving parts in a circular motion.
Iconography:
There will be a lot of elements to design at the conference, this means icons may come into play as an element to add visual interest. In preparation for explainers, icons have been drafted to express a style.
